The Show Will Go On!!
As weather forecasters are predicting another unseasonably cold day with rain on Saturday, The Big Read Kickoff Adventure at Jonathan Dickinson State Park will move indoors to the Kimball Education Center located within the park.
Planned activities include The Adventures of Tom Sawyer book giveaways (while supplies last), scavenger and treasure hunts, and faux campfire fun. Park admission is FREE with Martin County library card. Gates open at noon with planned activities starting at 1pm with the reading of the official Big Read Proclamation by County Commissioner Edward Ciampi. Suzy Hammer, entertainer extraordinaire will emcee the day’s events in period costume. The Junior League of Martin County will be helping with the scavenger hunt. Park rangers will be assisting throughout the day. Bring your camera for lots of photo opportunities! Come sign the white picket fence!
